The Christmas market in York is known as St Nicholas Fair.
Located in the heart of the city, you can experience the wonderful Christmas decorations along The Shambles to Parliament Street, where the Christmas market begins. Enjoy the stalls and sample the Christmas food as you walk towards St Sampson’s Square, which is lined with alpine-style chalets. Continuing a little further to Kings Square, you’ll find the beautiful vintage carousel. Christmas lights, Santa’s Grotto and Ice skating available in the Winter Wonderland at York Designer Outlet. Come and experience the Historical city of York! Whether it’s Viking heritage, Roman ruins, Cathedrals, Chocolate or Trains you are interested in, York has something for you to enjoy.
York boasts historical landmarks dating back to the romans. If you are interested in Vikings, you can visit the Jorik Viking museum and if you like darker history, check out the York Dungeons. If trains are your thing the Railway museum is a good choice or you can simply indulge in the sweeter history at York’s Chocolate story.
